Bolder, smokier flavor that comes from taking the original spirit and aging it longer with peat flavored malts in charred oak barrels.

Country: SCOTLAND

Varietal: SCOTCH

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Smooooothe!! By far my favorite blended scotch for regular cocktails. Much smoother than Johnnie Black with a hint of smokiness. Have enjoyed this since it debuted as a limited edition. Great price too.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A little bit of heaven I've tried many of the Johnnie Walker main distributions (Red, Black, Green, Gold, Blue, and Platinum). I can say with confidence that I find the Double Black to be my favorite of the lot with the Platinum being a close second. It starts with a smoky infusion upon touching your lips and ends with a sweetness that haves you craving for more. Medium bodied and very smooth. You'll also notice I gave favorable ratings below but only gave a "Good" rating for value instead of "Excellent". This is because ABC does have this item a bit overpriced. Fortunately they do price match. Total Wine has it for $30 which helps but Costco has it for $25 but they unfortunately don't advertise their liquors online so I can never price match them. ABC, you're one fo the biggest distributors in the country so that means you purchase in enough volume to compete consistently with your competition. There's no good reason there should be close to a 33% discrepancy in price from the brick and mortar market low let alone 20% from one of your closest competitor.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not what i expected. I thought double black meant double smokey and rich. It seems double means double the hangover a trait finer Scotch would never induce. How long is it actually aged? Sorry I was not impressed.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Smoke and peat from islay If you want some islay smoke and peat but don't have the coinage for laphroaig or lagavulin etc. It's not a better version of the black. It's different. I like it it more though.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Smokey Has a strong peat or smoke flavor. It is smooth. My preferred method of drinking it is neat in a whiskey class.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Best value for 12 year old blended scotch JW Black Label is the best value in a 12 year old scotch, especially if you like the Johnny Walker brand. I do
