Wonderful Fine CognacI have been buying this Maison Rouge Cognac for a couple of years. I started with the VS, which was excellent and moved to the VSOP which is superb. I visited Cognac, France last year and found the small independent producers had great cognacs and better prices. Many were, in my opinion, superior to the big Cognac Houses. In fact many of the small producers sell some of there cognacs to the big Cognac Houses that blend them to produce their cognacs. Maison Rouge was one of these smaller producers, although now I understand that they have been purchased by Hine. I am sure the original process, however, continues in Maison Rouge. I like the VSOP because of the slight sweetness to the taste and lighter body. The price is great for a VSOP, which the Cognac producers believe is the starting place for drinking undiluted cognac. They believe the VS is for mixing with something else.
