Created in 1919 by the Barbieri brothers of Padova, Aperol is an Italian tradition. The formula includes bitter orange, gentian, rhubarb, cinchona and other highly classified ingredients. It’s only 11% alcohol and makes great summer spritzers with Prosecco. Nearly every wine bar and restaurant in Italy serves them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fabulous Spritz I sampled Aperol at a tasting at my ABC store and loved it. I bought a bottle on the spot and have been sipping a spritz every evening since.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Low alcohol contend means hours of pleasure This light aperitif is typically mixed as follows: 1/3 Aperol with 2/3 Club Soda over ice for a refreshing drink. Substitute half the club soda with white wine or all the club soda with a sparkling wine if you prefer. For an added kick, put a floater of vodka atop. And always trim it with a thick slice of juicy orange and a dash of Orange Bitters; an essential on any gentleman' bar. Enjoy!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Aperol If you haven't been to Italy you would not understand. Stroll around any piazza and look at the various cafe tables and you will see Italians enjoying an Aperol spritz pretty much anytime of the day. We got hooked on them. The recipe is on the Aperol bottle!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not what I thought it would taste like. Saw a drink mix that we wanted to try and after making it for our guest...we were all disappointed. I'm sure some people would enjoy Aperol....just not our kind of drink.
