This simple, classic cocktail is easy to remember: 2 dashes bitters, 1 ounce vermouth, 2 ounces rye whiskey, or 2-1-2, the area code of Manhattan. Served straight up with a cherry in the bottom of the glass, a Manhattan shows off the flavors and body of rye whiskey—the spirit of choice for many people just before Prohibition started.

  • 2 oz Wild Turkey Rye Whiskey
  • 2 dashes Angostura Bitters
  • 1 oz Sweet Vermouth
  • 1 Cherry
  • Mixing Glass
  • Strainer
  • Mixing Spoon
  • Coupe or Martini Glass

Chill presentation glass by adding ice and setting aside.

Add ice to mixing glass.

Combine 2 dashes of Angostura bitters, 1 oz of Cinzano Rosso Vermouth and 2 oz of Wild Turkey Rye Whiskey.

Stir ingredients with mixing spoon.

Discard ice from presentation glass and strain drink into glass.

Garnish with cherry.
