Who to talk to
Everyone. Well, maybe not everyone, but this is your chance to get your questions answered. Tables are staffed by wine experts—either ABC wine staff or people from vineyards, distributors, or importers. And they love to talk wine.

What to taste
Generally, people approach our wine tastings in one of two ways—you decide what you want, and go for it. If you’re doing a tasting at home, you’ll probably want to do things a little differently.

But at an in-store tasting: This is your chance to try a wide variety of wines. Our bigger tastings generally have more than fifty wines available to you. Any label that appeals to you is worth taking a taste of.

Or you might focus on one or two styles of wine. Maybe you’re a red-wine drinker, but you’ve wanted to try some whites without making a huge investment in bottles. Or you like sweeter wines, but you’re ready to move on to dry. Pick your category and take lots of notes. Or not. Just remember to write down the names of anything you like but aren’t ready to buy, so you’ll remember it later.

You don’t have to follow this advice, but it’s worth considering: white before red, dry before sweet. This helps you get the full experience of each wine without being overwhelmed by the flavors of the wine that came before. Essentially, you’re building up to stronger flavors.
