Dan Aykroyd made an appearance in Orlando at one of our stores this week. And although he signed lots of movie memorabilia for his devoted fans, promoting his movie career was not the reason he was in town. He was here to sign bottles and promote his two wines and his latest venture…Crystal Head Vodka.

He was at the store this past Monday signing autographs and signing bottles purchased at the event for the hundreds of fans that showed up to meet him. Most everyone in line purchased a signed bottle of wine or vodka and many purchased multiple bottles and cases to which you could hear Dan call out “case of heads. We need a case of heads here.” He was extremely accommodating to everyone there and stayed late to make sure everyone got a chance to meet him and get an autograph. And although he was there to sign bottles of his products, he seemed perfectly happy to take pictures and sign anything that was put in front of him which included dvd/vhs covers, movie posters, magazine covers, movie soundtrack LPs, movie scripts and even a few t-shirts that fans had worn to the event. There were fans dressed in full Ghostbusters attire (complete with proton packs and slime guns), fans in Blues Brothers suits and a few who had Ghostbusters and Blues Brothers tattoos to show off. And of the 400 or so people that attended, I didn’t see a single person who left unhappy.

Dan Aykroyd has enjoyed incredible success in the entertainment business, and now looks to have found a way to have success outside of Hollywood. So the next time you are looking to try a new wine/vodka or to buy a great, unique gift for a friend…who ya gonna call?
